Enjoy the best smallmouth bass fishing at

Moosehorn Lake Outpost

Moosehorn Lake has bass fishermen registering many trophies while they are staying at this outpost. This lake is 2×2 miles with lots of shallows which make great spawning areas. The bass nests in later May and in June you can see from the airplane that make this lake a legendary one for smallmouth bass fishing. As an extra, we have 2 portage in (walk in) lakes Pike Lake and Trout Lake. Pike Lake has some lengthy northern pikes that are picture worthy and there is some tasty fish that you are able to catch enough for a great shore lunch or an amazing supper. Moosehorn has great fishing through the entire fishing season from May through September. The cabin has a great wood stove that is very warming on a cool evening. In May and June the smallmouth bass fishing is actually amusing as you can see the bass hit the top water baits and see them jump out of the water twisting and fighting-this outpost is a lot of fun! We suggest fly fishermen May or June for the bass at this outpost. In July through September the fishing is still as fun but you will use different tactics to go after smallmouth bass-they are not on the top water but can be easily caught around the reefs- a lot of the times we catch them on a jig with a leech, crank baits and plastics. We invite you to the fun fishing at Moosehorn Lake.

We have stand up paddle boards for those who would like to fish part time and relax and take in the amazing views. Paddle around and check out the clear water and explore Moosehorn Lake.
