April 2025

April was a gorgeous month for weather! We were able to work on our cabin across the ice at Dufault’s Island and see the progress daily. Chris, Jaden, Amber, Lisa, Gene and more were able to roll up their sleeves to get items crossed off the “to-do list.” The guests at Dufault’s Island Outpost are going to enjoy the new beautiful cabin. Here is a picture of the kitchen and some other amazing amenities!

The cabin will feature a large deck facing the lake and a sunporch that will be enclosed where our kitchen table will be to hold groups of 6-12 fishermen! We look forward to sharing our progress with you all!

When we left Dufault’s on the last day before ice out, we tried getting as much as we could done. Plumbing, the deck, the new sunroom windows and some other projects await but we should have a week to get them done before fishermen get there!

Many people are inquiring about the ice conditions. The ice should melt soon as we have had hot sunny weather! On these hot days, the sun warms up the bush and trees and then with the wind blows the nice warm air over the ice speeding up the melting process.

We are getting ready for the season and many of you should be starting to receive our emails in April for your trips in May and June. Bring on the fishing season!!
