2 Cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
2 TBS sugar
1/8 cup lard
1 cup warm water

Mix together dry ingredients, then cut in lard or shortening till crumbly. Add water just until moist, and gently mix into a ball. Do not over handle! Press into a greased pan until dough is 1-2 inches thick. Bake at 350 F for approximately 1/2 hour till lightly browned. Can also be cooked in a fry pan over an open fire or wrapped around the end of a stick and propped over the fire and cooked this way. Warm or cold, it's delicious with butter and jam!
