This is a great "starter camp" for people who have never experienced an outpost vacation. Margot Lake is only a few minutes from our air base in Minaki. You’ll experience the excitement of a ride in a Canadian bush plane. And when you arrive at Margot Lake after a 10 minute flight, you will find a true wilderness lake with excellent fishing for smallmouth bass and northern pike.
The cabin at Margot Lake is a handsome, square-timber structure that has the feel of a true northern outpost. It looks rustic, but it is brand new, with hot and cold running water, a shower, fridge, stove, propane barbecue and electric lighting. We supply you with a great Lund fishing boat with swivel seats, nets, cushions and minnow buckets. All you need is your own fishing rod, tackle, bedding and groceries.
This one-bedroom outpost cabin is very popular with couples who come here for quality time together, and with fathers and sons, who have discovered that it is an ideal place to reconnect. You can fish at you own pace, have a picnic lunch on the lake, and come back to the cabin early if you feel like a nap.
The smallmouth bass fishing is fast and furious, but the high point of your trip to Margot Lake might be the dinner hour, when you relax on the large deck and watch the sunset. With the aroma of fresh fish or a thick steak cooking on the barbecue and a well-earned refreshment in your hand, you and your fishing partner can relax and unwind after spending your day enticing the big ones from the depths.
If you’ve never tried the outpost camp experience, just talk to someone who has. They’ll tell you that fish never tastes quite as delicious as when it’s cooked straight from the lake, and that a holiday with your loved ones is never quite so special as when you’re surrounded by the lakes and trees of the northern wilderness.
